Police are investigating after a body was discovered in the Shropshire Union Canal near Nantwich.
The discovery was made close to the Overwater Marina between Nantwich and Audlem on Saturday (May 24).
The body was found close to Bridge 80 on the popular route.
In a statement online, Overwater Marina said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the discovery of a body in the canal by Bridge 80.
“We have spoken to the police to offer all our help in their investigation. Our thoughts are with the persons family.”
The canal and towpath were closed for several hours as police carried out a recovery operation.
