A car fire which started on a driveway in Alpraham near Nantwich spread to a second vehicle and a nearby house.

The incident happened shortly before 11pm on Friday night (May 30) at a property on Chester Road.

Fire crews from Nantwich and Winsford attended the scene.

A Cheshire Fire Service spokesperson said: “Crews were called to a car on fire on a driveway in Alpraham, which had spread to another nearby car and had begun to breach the front of the property.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and a road closure was put in place while the incident was dealt with.

“A thermal imaging camera was used to continuously monitor the temperature of the home, vehicles, and driveway, ensuring there was no risk of fire spread.

“This is not believed to have started deliberately, and all persons were accounted for.”
