Ashes cricket legend Ashley Giles MBE will be the headline speaker at Crewe Vagrants CC’s Sportsman’s Dinner, the club has announced.
The former England cricketer and 2005 Ashes hero will headline the event on Saturday September 6, kicking off at 7.30pm.
It will be a rare chance to hear first-hand from one of England’s most recognisable cricketing figures.
Giles played a vital role in the unforgettable 2005 Ashes victory.
Guests can expect stories from the dressing room, coaching insights, and the humour and humility that have made Giles a favourite among fans and players alike.
Joining Ashley on the night is comedian Jamie Sutherland, who serves as the full-time MC and compere at Everton FC.
The night includes a two-course meal, with tickets starting from £40.
There are also Gold and Platinum corporate table packages available for local businesses looking to reward staff, entertain clients, or associate their brand with a thriving local sports institution.

Those plans include the continued expansion of the club’s junior and women’s sections.
Following the successful launch of a women’s and girls’ programme, the club is preparing a new U9 girls’ team in Spring 2026 and an U13 boys’ team, ensuring local children have access to inclusive, high-quality cricket and a sense of team belonging.
