Stephen Lewis - landscape photographer

A well-known landscape photographer’s work has gone on exhibition at Nantwich Museum.

Stephen Lewis, Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, specialised in the Welsh landscape and Snowdonia in particular.

His award-winning panel of 12 outstanding images, which earned him the coveted achievement of Associateship from the Welsh Photographic Federation, will be displayed until Saturday July 19 in the Community Gallery at Nantwich Museum.

Stephen has been photographing in the landscape for more than 40 years.

Closely associated with the Snowdonia National Park, his knowledge and understanding of the area allowed him to produce images unrivalled in their portrayal of the ephemeral light and wild atmosphere of that special part of the world.

He said: “The landscape is every bit as wonderful and every bit as magical as you can imagine, and all that’s needed is that you be in the right place at the right time to bear witness.”

In addition to the panel of prints, there is a looping programme of timelapse landscapes at the exhibition.

Mounted copies of other Stephen Lewis images and books will be available for sale in the museum shop, the proceeds going to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, Chester.

The museum in Pillory Street is open from 10am – 4pm (Tuesday – Saturday). Entry is free to the museum and exhibition.
