Nantwich Town Women will be back on the pitch as they kick off their pre-season with a charity match against Crewe Alex Legends.
The match takes place this Sunday June 29 at 2pm at Nantwich’s Swansway Stadium.
This year, the Dabbers are supporting two local causes – Dabbers in the Community and baby loss charity Sands.
The charity game aims to be a fun-filled day with plenty on offer for fans and families, including a kids’ half-time penalty shootout, charity raffle, ice cream van, and refreshments from the bar.
Nantwich Town Women manager Dan Mellor said: “This fixture is a real highlight for us.
“It’s more than just a game – it’s a celebration of the amazing support we get from our community and a chance to give something back.
“The squad can’t wait to get out there and put on a show for a great cause.”
Last season, Nantwich Women lifted the Cheshire Women’s & Youth Football League Premier Division trophy in dominant fashion.
Formed only in 2020, the team have made a name for themselves, storming through the league with a record of 15 wins, one defeat, and no draws, finishing nine points clear at the top.
They also impressed in cup competitions, reaching the First Round Proper of the Women’s FA Cup and semi-finals of the CWYFL Challenge Cup.
They are now preparing for life in regional Tier 6 football.
Recruitment for the 2025/26 season is underway, with recent trials welcoming fresh talent to the squad.
