A new “celebration of creativity” is to take place in Nantwich next month.
Nantwich Town Council is to host its first Youth Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday July 5-6.
The two-day event will offer free workshops, performances and activities designed to inspire and empower local young people through the arts.
On Saturday July 5, creative workshops will run throughout the day at the Methodist Church and the Parish Hall at St Mary’s Church.
Workshops will give young people a chance to gain hands-on experience in singing, drama, crafts and special effects make-up.
Sessions are designed for young people of all abilities.
The day will end with a free, open-air, sing-along screening of The Greatest Showman at Brookfield Park, Nantwich.
Families are encouraged to bring their own seating, snacks and their best singing voices for a fun, feel-good evening under the stars.
Gates will open at 5.30pm, and the film will start at 6.30pm.
On Sunday July 6, the festival will continue at Nantwich Civic Hall with clay and paper-making workshops in the morning.
And the afternoon will feature a showcase of live performances by local talent, and a special guest appearance from dance stars and brothers AJ & Curtis Pritchard.
A town council spokesperson said: “This vibrant festival is centred around celebrating the creativity and achievements of young people across Nantwich and the surrounding communities, with opportunities to participate, perform and be inspired.”
All events are free, but spaces are limited.
Tickets are required for entry and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
