A number of changes to bus routes in and out of Nantwich are taking place in July.
The changes are to the services 51, 52, 53, and 84 and come after community feedback.
Changes to services 51, 52, and 53 include a new routing between Leighton Hospital and Nantwich which will now travel via Wistaston, providing a direct service to Birchin Lane.
However, Sainsbury’s supermarket on Middlewich Road will no longer be directly served by these routes.
Passengers wishing to access Sainsbury’s can transfer to the service 85 at Nantwich Bus Station.
Service 51 will operate exclusively on schooldays.
On Saturdays and during school holidays, buses previously running as service 51 will now operate as service 52 to boost connectivity and provide additional journeys via Millfields.
Changes to service 84 from July 27 include a half-hourly service between Crewe, Nantwich and Chester from Monday to Saturday.
Most timings will be refined to provide half-hourly intervals throughout the day.
A new 6am service from Nantwich to Crewe will be introduced, catering specifically to early morning commuters.
The 84 will also operate on Sundays.
Cllr Anna Burton, who advocated for a direct bus service to Leighton Hospital, says she supports the changes.
She added: “Buses are key to getting people out of cars, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and ease the strain on infrastructure.
“We believe these latest changes will significantly improve bus services in the area, with residents of Birchin Lane benefiting from a bus service for the first time in many years and Wistaston experiencing a notable boost in connectivity.
“The 84 service on a Sunday is very welcome. We are excited about these improvements to our public transport system.”

The 84 operates on Sundays but due to parked cars, it doesn’t serve Willaston village – similar to evenings too. If there were less parked cars, then the buses would find it easier to manoeuvre and so would be able to serve the village.
so… it says the 85 will run on Sundays? but it’s not calling at stores corner in willaston still??
the 85 bus usually includes stores corner…but the 85X doesn’t come through willaston anyway ..so why isn’t this posted as the 85X route?
There was a gentleman * who obviously hadn’t read the timetable …waiting for the Sunday 85 bus at stores corner…I had to point it out to him… but I JUST thought…oh… they say the 85 is running on Sundays…so I checked to see if it is…and it isn’t!
I am disabled and do use the stores corner stop and I would be unable to get up to crewe road stop
