Nantwich Players have opened the Four Horseman Pub for their latest production of The Last Quiz Night on Earth by Alison Carr, writes Claire Faulkner.
An asteroid is heading to Earth, and there’s nothing Bruce Willis can do about it.
How would you spend your last night? Would you try and get to your family? Or head down to the local and take part in the quiz?
Directed by Sharon Dutton, this production was heartfelt and funny.
Quiz sheets and clip boards are handed out and the audience are encouraged to take part in the quiz.
I quickly found myself on a team, and as we watched the production, we also managed to answer some of the questions.
Marianne Hill was very confident as Pub Landlady Kathy, who was determined to carry on serving drinks to regulars.
Luke Murphy provided the sparkle and was great as Quiz Master Ray, making sure everyone took part and no one cheated.
Simon Porter played Bobby, who turned up at the pub regretting some of his life choices, but still being able to belt out a great karaoke tune and have a dance.
Jenny Berrisford was wonderful as Fran, who tracked down her childhood sweetheart to declare her undying love.
If you like immersive theatre, and enjoy a classic British pub quiz, this show is definitely for you.
This production reminds us that life is short, and we must enjoy every moment.
The Last Quiz Night on Earth is running at The Players Theatre until Sunday 13 July 2025.
