A village football club has been targeted by vandals who damaged equipment after breaking into a training ground in Nantwich.
Angry volunteers for Wrenbury-based Aspire FC discovered the damage on Friday night at the training facility based at Malbank High School.
Club staff say they found a number of teenagers had broken into the locked training area.
When club volunteers arrived they also found damage to several of their goals.
An Aspire FC spokesperson said: “Sadly that will cost a significant amount of money to replace.
“We are a grassroots football club who cannot afford to keep replacing broken goals – this isn’t the first time this has happened, unfortunately.
“This will eventually mean that our young children will no longer be able to train or play due to lack of equipment.
“Rest assured this has been reported to the police as it is criminal damage but if any parents recognise any of their children from the pictures we would welcome a discussion before we take this further — at Aspire Football Club.”

Birch the buggers
No – it reflects the callous arrogance of the vandals responsible. With a bit of luck they will be recognised from the photo and prosecuted, and the cost of repairs recovered from them via their so-called parents.
More houses, more people, less green space, more traffic and yes more crime. I think this kind of thing just reflects the over building of the area.
