Dear Editor
As a loyal customer of Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge for over 20 years, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to Steve and Denise Lawson, their daughters, and the entire team for everything they’ve brought to our town since taking over the shop in 2003.
It’s with a mix of sadness and admiration that I’ve heard the news of the Lawsons planning to sell the coffee shop and move from their iconic premises on the High Street.
While I will certainly miss seeing them in that beautiful, historic building in the heart of town, I am excited for their new chapter – opening a new independent bookshop elsewhere in Nantwich.
Steve and Denise have created so much more than just a shop or a café – they’ve built a hub of culture, conversation, and community.
From fabulous food and excellent coffee to a brilliantly curated range of books and memorable author events, they’ve given locals and visitors alike countless reasons to keep coming back.
They’ve weathered every storm – from online retail giants to global crises – with creativity and heart, and Nantwich is all the better for it.
Until the time comes for them to hand over the keys, I’ll continue to eat, drink, and browse at the Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge.
And when their new venture opens, you can bet I’ll be there too, ready to support their next chapter.
Thank you, Steve and Denise, for everything.
Warmest wishes
Jonathan White
