Thousands of people packed into the Nantwich Showground yesterday for another amazing Show day at Reaseheath College.

Organisers have hailed the event as a huge success, as hundreds of hard-working volunteers came together to ensure it ran smoothly.

As many as 10,000 visitors enjoyed a wide range of events, from dog shows to BMX racing, main ring parades, animal demonstrations and a vast array of stands.

People packed in to specific areas of the Showground, including the Community Garden where Nantwich News was based handing out our “Nantwich Life” July edition to grateful recipients.

Floral Arts and Pigeons marquees were also popular in this area, with live demonstrations.

There was also the Countryside Arena and marquee, where the dog competitions were held, and visitors were wowed by the amazing giant tortoises.

The agricultural section for cattle, sheep and horses was as popular as ever, as the best of animals were showed and paraded, and numerous trophies handed out.

In the professional services and lifestyle areas, many local businesses ran stands to talk to visitors and provide free samples and demonstrations.

And there was the motors section with displays of wide range of vintage and classic vehicles, close to the fairground and JDL mini markets which were as popular as ever.

The new Nantwich Cheese Awards proved a big hit as judges sampled dozens of entries from cheeses within a 100-mile radius of Nantwich.

The awards were organised by Nick Birchall from The Cheese Shop in Nantwich, along with main sponsor Westry Roberts cheeses.

And food courts were as busy as always as families enjoyed picnics, hot food, drinks and relaxing while soaking up the Show atmosphere.

Other than a morning shower and brisk breeze, the day was blessed with good weather.

A spokesperson for the Show posted: “What a day! Thank you to everyone who visited the Nantwich Show and made it brilliant.

“A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, our wonderful volunteers, our committees, our traders and the weather for all playing a part.

“We hope to see you back in 2026.”

  1. My first visit as only recently moved to the area. What an absolute pleasure it was! A proper traditional, agriculture show, without the flat feel of a large county show. It had a lovely ambiance, people were warm and friendly, both traders and visitors. Spoke to lots of people that were strangers though was very welcoming.
The stands I spoke to were informative, without a hard push sell. A good variety of items from cars to earings without much duplicates like at bigger shows. Especially supporting local business, organisations and produce.
But where were the horses? Disappointed to miss the Shires who were on first, poor timetable planning to support an endangered British breed. Apart from the scurry which we caught late afternoon, that was all for horses?!
I’d aimed to arrive to wnterbtye dogs show but sadly due to the volume of traffic congestion, we arrived too late. Nearly an hour to travel a mile! But the parking stewards were very good and helpful. Oved the tortoise but missed thr meerkat because we had no idea they were there.
Bought our ticket on the way to the show, but there were no reduced rates or confessions for elderly, disabled, carers options which was extremely wrong.
Finally, there were a LOT food stalls, massive variety which was good, expensive but not too excessive priced, maybe scale back numbers or offer more variation in a food area specifically for eating in.
Would I return next year? Definitely. But with more pre planning. It was better than Cheshire county show but may it could he slightly more improved again

A great day out and well laid out show . Plenty of food stalls but all seemed to be pies, pastries, cakes and sweet things, not much to promote healthy diets ! Could this please be addressed for next year?
Well done to all who helped make this a great show.
