Nantwich Town football development officer Will Swindells has completed the gruelling 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of “Dabbers in the Community”, writes Jonathan White.
Will climbed the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa – completing a 38km trek in just under 23 and a half hours, beating the 24-hour target.
His efforts are part of a growing number of fundraising initiatives led by the club as it aims to raise £300,000 to replace the ageing 3G pitch at Nantwich Town by the end of 2027.

And it follows several successful events already held, including junior football tournaments and An Evening with England and Crewe Alex legend David Platt, which drew huge support from the local community.
Will said: “The challenge was very tough but enjoyable. I really enjoyed the second one, Scafell Pike – that was the most fun.
“Snowdon was the hardest because I was shattered by then.
“My motivation was to raise money for Dabbers in the Community to help fund a pitch renovation at Nantwich Town FC.
“It’s so important that both the Club and wider community have the best possible facilities to enjoy football.”
A club spokesperson saud: “The club congratulates Will on his brilliant achievement and encourages the community to continue showing their support!
“Donations are still open, and every contribution helps bring the new pitch a step closer.”
