Malbank results day

Happy students at Malbank School in Nantwich were celebrating their GCSE results today.

A number of students achieved multiple grade 8s and 9s while others overcame personal challenges to secure excellent marks.

Headteacher John Harrison praised the resilience and dedication shown by both students and staff.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see our students achieve the results they’ve worked so hard for,” he said.

“This year group has shown remarkable determination, and the strength of many of our individual department results reflect that.

“It’s a moment of real celebration for everyone involved.”

Among the standout performers were Emma Brookshaw, Keira Riley, Thomas West, Alexandra Wynne, Daniel N’Cube, Caden Marsh, and Safina Lisnic, who each secured multiple grade 8 and 9s alongside a host of other impressive grades.

However, the celebrations were not just about top marks.

Louise Ratcliffe, Head of Key Stage 4, highlighted the importance of recognising progress at every level.

She said: “While it’s fantastic to see students achieving grade 8 and 9s, some of the most powerful stories come from those who’ve overcome challenges to secure key passes in English and Maths.

“For many, those grade 4s are life-changing and open doors to future opportunities.”

Malbank Sixth Form is now enrolling students for its A Level and BTEC programmes starting in September.

Head of Sixth Form Craig Batty said: “Year 11 have been a joy to work with throughout the recruitment process.

“I’m really confident they will flourish as Year 12 students, alongside those joining us from other schools.

“With last week’s A Level results showing exceptional outcomes and nearly all students securing their first-choice university places, I’m looking forward to seeing what this year group will bring to our 6th Form.”

External students interested in joining Malbank Sixth Form are encouraged to contact Mr Batty via email at [email protected] or by calling on 01270 611009.

Existing Malbank students can also confirm their course choices through Microsoft Teams, where final forms are available.
