
Fire crews were called out to tackle a grass fire in a field between Hankelow and Buerton.
The fire started at around 7.45pm last night (August 25) at a field off Longhill Lane, near Audlem.
One fire engine from Audlem attended and firefighters used one hose reel and a beater to extinguish the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check the area for hotspots.
Earlier on the same day, crews were also called to an address on Wrexham Road in Ridley to tackle a fire involving burning garden waste.
It happened at around 11.30am.
Firefighters were called to a small fire in the open which was found to be someone burning garden waste.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down the area.
