Anne steps up for walk challenge

Wistaston resident Anne Garner is stepping up to help raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK, writes Jonathan White.

The learning mentor at Cheshire College – South & West (Crewe Campus) is taking on the fundraising “Walk 30 Miles Challenge” in September.

And it’s a challenge close to Anne’s heart after she battled back from breast cancer almost 10 years ago.

The virtual challenge is designed to be flexible, with participants free to complete their 30 miles in whatever way suits them best – whether that’s a steady mile a day or longer walks at weekends.

Anne said: “I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, but thankfully I’m all clear at the moment.

“As I find longer distances difficult, I’ve set myself the achievable goal of walking one mile a day for 30 days.

“I’m really pleased to be part of this challenge, and I hope to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“Please support me if you can and help fund life-saving research. Thank you all in advance.”

Anne’s determination is inspiring, and every step she takes this September will help make a difference.
