A young motorcyclist has died after a horror crash on the busy A534 Crewe Road in Willaston last night (September 3).

The rider of the motorbike, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died on the way.

Cheshire Police say his family are being supported by specialist officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at 6.37pm on Crewe Road in Willaston.

The incident involved a second vehicle close to the junction with Coppice Close.

Police had to close the road off in both directions to allow for an air ambulance helicopter to land.

Sgt Amy Hollis said: “I’d urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam of the incident to contact us to help us with our investigation into the circumstances.”
