Nantwich Police have vowed to target those spraying graffiti in the town, causing criminal damage.
They say there has been a rise in the number of reports of graffiti in recent weeks.
Buildings at Barony Park were spray painted, and large fencing panels around the Cheerbrook roundabout have also been graffiti’d with the “NUCE” tag.
Nantwich Police said: “In recent weeks we have seen a rise in reports of graffiti related criminal damage.
“The majority of incidents involve the same type of tags, paint and design and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects.
“If you have any information on who is responsible please contact us via 101, online or Crimestoppers.
“Thanks to Nantwich Town Council who acted quickly to remove the paint from this latest incident on the Barony Park.”

Police also quoted the “broken windows” theory which suggests visible signs of neglect and minor crimes, like broken windows and graffiti, creates an environment that signals a lack of care and leads to increased fear, escalating disorder, and more serious crimes.
“Introduced by James Q. Wilson and George Kelling in 1982, the theory suggests that addressing these minor issues through policing and community intervention can prevent a decline into serious criminal activity,” say police.

While the Lame-Brain ‘Artists’ defacing Our Community so rightfully attract condemnation I can’t help thinking the Ire of Right-Minded Citizens Everywhere Should be better focussed on calling for the ‘Hanging’ of Monsters similarly responsible for crimes like the Southport Atrocity?
Roll On ‘REFORM’ !!!!🙏
Provide an outlet for their creative streak. This must have been done elsewhere in the UK with some success. Dont stifle creative flair, harness it.
Maybe CE should identify buildings which are considered and “eye sore” and create a competition for the said buildings to become “walls of creative art” , they can apply conditions and reward the winners . We could have our own “Banksy” somewhere in CE . Turn a negative/problem to a positive, , thinking differently
Maybe if we demolished derelict buildings and had hedges and trees instead of fence panels
That graffiti brightened up a boarded up public lavatory which is an even bigger eyesore.
Surely the police can focus their energies on other criminal activity, to some it is graffiti to some is a different art form
