Cheshire Wildlife Trust has announced the winners of its 2026 calendar photography competition.
And the winning shot was this image taken by Colin Woods in Marbury, near Wrenbury, of great crested grebes battling it out on the water.
The 12 winning images, along with 12 runners-up, will be featured in the Trust’s popular fundraising calendar.
More than 160 entries were received, showcasing a stunning array of nature photography from across the region.
Award-winning wildlife photographer Ben Hall reviewed the entries and has selected 12 winners and 12 runners up, which will all feature in the 2026 calendar.
He also picked an overall winner by Colin Woods, which features on the front cover.
The calendar is now available to pre-order for just £10.
All money raised will help the recovery of nature in Cheshire.
Kat Wade, fundraising manager at Cheshire Wildlife Trust, said: “Every year we’re amazed at the stunning photographs people have captured across the region.
“There’s so much variety and beauty in Cheshire and that’s really been captured in this year’s entries.
“It gets harder every year to pick the winners! Our 2026 calendar includes a stunning selection of birds, insects, mammals, plants, fungi and trees creatively captured in Cheshire.
“We’d like to say a huge congratulations to our winners and runners up!
“Our calendar proves more popular each year and helps raise vital funds to support our work.
“It’s fantastic to know that so many people want to have images of Cheshire’s beautiful wildlife on their wall all year round and help protect it.
“However, it’s popularity means we do sell out! Be sure to pre-order your copy so you don’t miss out.”
