good fitness classes with Clare Eaton

A Nantwich fitness instructor is launched a new club aimed at getting older people fitter while helping to tackle isolation.

Clare Eaton hopes her new classes at the Nantwich Youth and Community Centre (NYCC) will bring elderly people together.

Her “Gentle Fitness” Classes will launch on Monday 29th September from 10:30am–11:30am.

Clare, who runs Feel Good Health and Fitness, said: “The aim of these sessions is to help people feel fitter, stronger, and more confident through gentle movement that’s suitable for all abilities.

“Just as importantly, each class is followed by tea, coffee, cake, and chat giving people the chance to connect, make friends, and combat loneliness, especially as we head into the winter months.”

Clare is a qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer in Nantwich.

She teaches fitness classes for every age group but recently she wanted to do something more “for our older community”.

Clare added: “I look after my elderly mum and I have seen how many older people around us feel isolated and lonely.

“I’ve seen the negative impact that a lack of movement and human interaction have on older people and I have found it heart-breaking.

“I decided that I wanted to do something about it… to create a place where our older generation can come together, move gently, feel fitter and stronger, and also have the chance to come together to talk, laugh, and feel part of something special.

“From that idea, Feel Good Gold was born.”

Each session will include 30 minutes of gentle strength and functional fitness, designed to help with everyday movement and independence, followed by 30 minutes of tea, coffee, cake, and a good chat.

Clare added: “It’s not just about fitness, I want it to be about building a community, having something to look forward to each week, and making new friendships.”

Classes are £8.50 per week and Clare can accommodate up to 30 people.

Those interested can book a place by calling Clare on 07811 983 823.

“Looking ahead, I’d love to add more classes in Nantwich and the surrounding villages, and eventually organise group outings, meals together, theatre trips, and days out.

“This is just the beginning, I want everyone to enjoy themselves and have fun.”

  1. Attended the inaugural class yesterday and it was easy going exercise and a good laugh. Refreshments afterwards and good opportunity to meet the other participants.

  2. Something I have been looking for.
