barony park bowling green - break in 1

Thieves smashed their way into the bowling green on Barony Park in Nantwich, causing hundreds of pounds in damage.

Bowling Club volunteers discovered the damage which happened last night (Sept 27) or early hours of today.

They say the gate was forced open and lock smashed off. The shed containing equipment was then broken into by offenders forcing the metal doors.

One volunteer said: “Police have been to us but there’s not much they can do.

“There’s nothing major taken but extensive damage has been done to the doors of our shed. We’ve repaired as best we can but they are ruined.

“I’d assume proper thieves did it not just kids as the bar used on the doors was large and was brought and taken away.”

The club, at the Everybody Leisure-run Barony Park sports complex off Barony Road, stores its more expensive equipment like mowers off site so these were not stolen.

“It’s really galling as there’s a few hundreds of pounds of damage and we are self-sponsored working hand to mouth,” he added.

“Hopefully people can keep a few eyes on it for the next few weeks. There’s a big hut that I’m sure they will be back to plunder at a later date.

“Police have vowed to keep a look out on it but the thin blue line is not very wide.”

  1. The police won’t help you, they are rubbish, my elderly mother got robbed, I called the police, they didn’t even come out, they weren’t bothered.
My brothers lorry got set on fire and burnt to the ground, police said ” there’s nothing we can do”, that famous line they always use. Even though he had CCTV footage.

There is a CCTV camera right next to the bowling green on barony, I wonder if they can be bothered to have a look at that.
This town is getting really bad now, we need the police to get off their lazy arses, get from behind their cosy desks, and start doing what it is that we are paying them for.

  2. Is there a go fund me we can donate to?
