It’s been a season to remember for Nantwich Tennis Club’s ladies’ teams after achieving unprecedented success across the South & Mid Cheshire Tennis League.
Nantwich secured first place in three out of the four divisions and second place in the other.
They also won two knockout trophies. The club says it highlights the strength and depth of the women’s game at the club.
The A Team led the way, storming to victory in the First Division while also lifting the Knockout Cup, completing the double.
The B Team finished a strong fourth in their first year back in the top division after last season’s promotion.
There was more silverware for Nantwich as the C team completed an amazing turnaround, moving from a relegation battle last season to clinching the Second Division title this year.
The D team also impressed, climbing from fourth place last year to finish second in the Third Division.
And in Division Four, the E team topped the table, rising from mid-table last season to be crowned champions.
They then went on to add the Handicap Knockout Trophy for good measure.
The newly formed F Team made a great debut with a fifth-place finish in the same division.
It means Nantwich will field three women’s teams in the First Division next season – an achievement no other club can match.
The club, next to Alvaston Business Park, is actively welcoming new players of all ages and abilities – whether a complete beginner, those returning after a break or a competitive player looking for league tennis.
