celebrity - Steven Burgin salon welcomes stylist to stars

A VIP in the hairdressing industry passed on her celebrity styling tips during a masterclass at a Nantwich salon.

Keera K Sira, a former educator at the London Toni&Guy Academy and stylist to many red-carpet celebrities, was welcomed to Steven Burgin Hairdressing on Hospital Street.

Based in London, Keera spent at day in the salon demonstrating her award-winning techniques after styling celebrities including Martin Kemp, Roger Daltrey, Isabella Blow, Imran Khan and Lorraine Chase as well as super models Erin O’Conner and Alex Wyke.

She gave an insight into life behind the scenes as a session stylist creating catwalk looks at London and Milan Fashion Week and working at shows for top designers including Paul Costello and Vivienne Westwood.

She said: “I’m currently art directing photo-shoots and editorial publications so it was lovely to get out to a local salon and experience the enthusiasm of a young team.

“It was my first time in Nantwich and there are indeed a great number of salons so the need to stay on top of cutting-edge trends is important.

“It was wonderful to work with Steve and his team. Their skill-set and passion for hair is like no other and Nantwich was delightful.”

Steve, who trained with Vidal Sassoon, has a client portfolio aged nine to 99.

The salon has won many awards from the hair brand Joico for customer service, business management and giving back to the community.

He said: “After being in the industry over 40 years, I know how important is to stay cutting-edge and one step ahead of competitors.

“This was an incredible opportunity to welcome such a respected name in the industry to Nantwich.

“Our team is passionate about staying at the forefront of trends and it proved a real creative boost.”

The salon, now 25 years old, received its own make-over earlier this year.

It was closed for a few weeks for a refit but work continued from a pop-up salon at Hospital Street neighbour Rosie’s Beauty.

It continues to support charities including Water Aid and the Little Princess Trust and is currently counting the proceeds from its annual Macmillan coffee morning.
