Fire crews across Cheshire teamed up to tackle a serious house blaze in Tarporley earlier today (October 12).

The blaze broke out at around 12.15am at a house on Townsfield Drive, Tarporley.

Appliances from Nantwich, Winsford, Middlewich, Chester, Northwich and Lymm were sent to the scene along with the aerial ladder platform from Chester and welfare unit from Penketh.

Cheshire Fire said it was a “significant fire” on the first floor and loft space of a semi-detached property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose jets to bring the fire under control.

All residents were accounted for, one person was taken to hospital for suspected smoke inhalation.

Cheshire Fire Service said: “The fire also affected the neighbouring property, where crews gained access to tackle the fire from the loft space.”

The fire was extinguished at around 2.15am and crews remained on the scene to monitor for hotspots and assess structural safety.

Fire teams were still at the scene at 9.30am today, continually monitoring the property, damping down hot spots, and retrieving belongings for the occupants.

Am investigation into the cause has been launched.
