Nantwich Town Women continued their unbeaten run in the North West Women’s Regional League Division One South with a commanding 4-0 victory away to Liverpool Feds Reserves.

Manager Dan Mellor made two changes from the previous league win, welcoming back captain Meg Ragdale to lead the Dabbers and Katie Greenwood to the starting XI following suspension.

After a disappointing cup exit to FC United of Manchester, Nantwich responded in perfect fashion regaining their rhythm and asserting dominance from the first whistle.

The Dabbers created numerous first-half chances, forcing a string of superb saves from the Feds goalkeeper, and went into the break 1-0 ahead.

The second half brought more attacking flair and clinical finishing as the visitors powered to a 4-0 victory and another three valuable points.

Amanda Fallon scored a brace and Katie Greenwood and Libby Bulkeley added the others.

At the back, Beth Ragdale was outstanding, earning the GOAT Player of the Match award.

Mellor said afterwards: “We asked for a response and the girls absolutely delivered.

“From the first whistle we dominated, controlled the tempo and created chance after chance.

“It’s probably a game that should’ve finished with a few more goals, but the way we reacted and imposed ourselves was exactly what we wanted to see.

“Ten games unbeaten now in our first season at this level, that’s all down to the players’ hard work, togetherness, and desire to keep improving week after week.

“We looked at this period of the season and know it’s going to be tough with four away games on the spin so to start with three points is vital and it will give us confidence going into the next one.”

The result leaves Nantwich top of the table with 28 points from 10 matches – nine wins, one draw, no defeats, and a +39 goal difference.
