NiB gold award

Hard-working volunteers for Nantwich In Bloom are celebrating after the town scooped GOLD in the North West in Bloom awards.

Judges praised the town once more and all the helpers who work to bring colour to the town.

They have been presented with a certificate and awarded Gold in the Large Town category.

A Nantwich in Bloom spokesperson said: “We have been awarded gold again by North West in Bloom.

“Thank you so much to our wonderful team who give so much of their time to make this award possible.

“You all work very hard to make our lovely town look even more blooming lovely.

“And thank you so much to our sponsors for your support.”

Mayor of Nantwich Cllr Mary Slinn said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Nantwich has once again achieved a Gold Award.

“This fantastic recognition truly helps to put our town on the map and plays a big part in attracting visitors and boosting local pride.

“On behalf of the Town Council, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers who give their time and energy to keeping Nantwich looking so beautiful.

“Their dedication and community spirit are what make achievements like this possible.”

A spokesperson for the Growing Health Community Garden said: “Bravo Nantwich in Bloom. Another year winning gold. So much hard work, planning and vision goes into this achievement and we are so proud!”

Former Mayor and chair of Nantwich Food Festival Christine Farrall said: “Well done again! Your efforts help to make Nantwich a fabulous tourist centre. Thank you.”

Jeff Stubbs, chair of Nantwich Civic Society, added: “Congratulations to all your hard working team of volunteers. How hard it must be to keep up your impressive record… and our town looks fabulous thanks to you.”

And Jeremy Herbert of Sustainable Nantwich said: “Fantastic news. Congratulations to the team. Well deserved.”

The team of volunteers, with help of grants from organisations like Nantwich Town Council, work tirelessly throughout the year on flower beds, planters, hanging baskets and boxes around the town centre.

The town has won multiple Gold awards in the annual competition.

This year, judges toured the town on July 25th to see it in all its summer glory.
