
Fire crews mooo-ved quickly when they rescued a cow which had become stranded in a canal near Nantwich.
The animal became stuck at the canal at Minshull Lock in Aston Juxtra Mondrum at around 1pm on Saturday (November 15th).
One fire engine from Nantwich and one fire engine and animal rescue unit from Knutsford attended the scene.
A spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to assist a cow from a canal near to Minshull Lock.
“Members of the public had secured the animal using a harness, and it remained in the water on arrival.
“Swift water rescue technicians and animal rescue personnel secured the cow with strops and guided it to safety.
“The cow was successfully removed from the water and handed over to the farmer.”
