Jabbin Dabber boxers with trophies

A Jabbin Dabber Boxing Club fighter in Nantwich played a starring role at the “4 Corners” show.

Lewis Garrett, 16, stepped into the spotlight at Stanley Park Liverpool and opened the 47kg bout with caution, choosing to feel out his opponent Bland Blue.

Though Garrett found moments of success in the early exchanges, Blue grew in confidence as the first round drew to a close.

The second began much as the first ended, with Blue pressing forward and forcing Garrett onto the back foot.

Midway through the round, disaster struck for the Jabbin Dabber fighter when Blue timed a perfectly delivered uppercut to the solar plexus, sending Garrett reeling.

The referee issued a standing eight count, but the moment seemed to jolt Garrett back into life.

He rallied with determination, finishing the round with an energetic flurry.

As the bell sounded for the third and final round, both boxers emerged with renewed discipline, trading shots with the composure of far more experienced fighters.

Garrett surged forward, taking the initiative and forcing Blue to retreat for the first time in the contest.

His aggression and work rate peaked in the closing stages, but the resurgence came too late to alter the judges’ scorecards.

Blue claimed a unanimous victory after three entertaining rounds.

Simon Jones, of Jabbin Dabber in Nantwich, said: “Once again, 4 Corners delivered a superb evening of boxing for the local crowd, showcasing talent, heart, and high-quality matchups throughout the event.”
