SVFC’s 2025 production of Rapunzel (3)

Shavington Village Festival Committee have received 10 nominations at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) District 8 Awards.

The nods cover a range of categories, including various roles from their successful 2025 panto Rapunzel.

Nominations include Best Poster, Best Programme (Peacock Class), Best Ethereal Being in a Pantomime, Best Pantomime Villain, Best Pantomime Dame, Best Staging of a Pantomime, Best Choreographer of a Pantomime, Best Musical Director of a Pantomime, Best Director of a Pantomime, and Best Pantomime.

Their 2025 production of Rapunzel, staged at the Shavington Academy Theatre, drew audiences of more than 1,300 and impressed NODA judges.

A district representative praised the strong staging, highlighting an impressive tower built entirely in-house.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering ceremony on January 30th 2026.

The SVFC team are already turning its focus to their next show.

Their 2026 pantomime Aladdin will run at the Shavington Academy Theatre from Tuesday 17th February to Saturday 21st February.

Evening performances start at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm. Tickets are £10 and available at https://svfc.info/

Director James Sambrook said: “I was blessed with a committed cast and crew who worked incredibly hard to create a magical pantomime to entertain the local community.

“It is a privilege to be part of SVFC, and we can’t wait to welcome audiences to Aladdin in February 2026.”
