Organisers of the popular festive Nantwich Tractor Run have helped to raise thousands of pounds for two local causes.
Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch dozens of local tractor owners decorated in Christmas lights convoy through the streets of Nantwich and surrounding villages on December 28th.
The tractor run started at The Royal Oak pub in Worleston and aimed to raise vital funds for St Luke’s Hospice and The Riding for Disabled Nantwich.
Organisers had hoped to raise £1,500 via a Justgiving page but this target has already been smashed and stands at more than £1,600. With entry fees, it has taken the total to around £3,000.
Those taking part paid a small fee to enter, and the route took them from the Royal Oak to Church Minshull, Leighton Hospital, Middlewich Road, Cheerbrook, Churches Mansion on London Road, Waterlode, Welsh Row, Nantwich Town FC, and back to the Royal Oak.

Organiser Alan Ackerley said: “The public response was yet again amazing. The list of thanks is endless.
“Firstly The Royal Oak Worleston for hosting supporting and promoting the event and everyone who took part in the tractor run.
“The local businesses who have made donations and helped to collect donations. The Badger Church Minshull, Minshulls Nursery, The Rising Sun, The Cheshire Cat, STREET, LOCO, The Red Cow.
“Nic Cooper #nantwichcommunity, The Nantwich Show, So Cheshire, The Talbot and everyone who has shared videos and photos.
“Everyone who turned out to watch wave and cheer. Even the lady who was waving two fingers! Your support makes it even more worthwhile!
“To Deborah Ackerley for putting up with me reading and replying to messages when tea is ready! from the amazing people who want to fetch their tractors. Don’t leave it too late next year.
“The residents of Worleston for putting up with the noise and chaos. Anna Reade and her family. Daniel Hesketh, Adam White, Niamh Jennings and all the Royal Oak staff, Pigsty Pizza, Nicola Wells & Olivia, chief banker and head judge.
“Apologies to anyone who was held up during this event but it’s done for two amazing charities.
“Nantwich & District Riding for the Disabled – RDA Group and St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice Winsford.
“We have raised nearly £3k and money is still coming in.”
People can still donate at the event’s Justgiving page here
