Second-half - fifth Dabbers goal - Byron Harrison (centre) has his hattrick (1)

Nantwich Town recorded their biggest win of the season when they thumped Sporting Khalsa 6-1 at the Swansway Stadium.

Bryon Harrison scored a hat-trick while a brace from Alex Panter and another from Joel Connolly rounded off the victory.

The win lifts the Dabbers up to ninth in the Northern Premier League West division, but still 14 points off the play-offs which now look a lost cause.

The visitors started well and hit the post on 21 minutes with a strike from Nabi which had Garratt beaten in the Nantwich goal.

The Dabbers had their own chances through Panter and Hockenhull before taking the lead on 37 minutes when Harrison’s deflected shot found its way into the corner.

Just four minutes later, Nantwich went 2-0 up when Connolly doubled the lead on his 100th game with a fine dinked finish.

Panter almost made it 3-0 on stroke of half-time but missed the target.

But six minutes after the restart, the Dabbers sealed victory when Harrison tapped home from close range to make it 3-0.

Panter grabbed his first on 67 minutes with a fine drive which left the Sporting keeper helpless.

The visitors scored a consolation effort in the 86th minute when Tilt fired a unstoppable effort into the top corner.

One minute into injury time, Harrison completed his hat-trick before Panter finished off the rout two minutes later.

Dabbers manager Luke Goddard said afterwards: “We started sloppily at times, but all of a sudden when we turned it on we got the goals.

“We were poor at times with our final decision – the final pass, shot – so it could have been even greater.

“It was a difficult day with that wind, difficult for both teams. It was a fantastic win and that’s what it is all about, the win.”
