Residents of Nantwich are being invited to the Nantwich Annual Town Meeting taking place on Thursday April 23rd at Nantwich Civic Hall.
And the meeting this year also includes a community event featuring stalls from local organisations and refreshments.
The event, which starts from 6pm, aims to give residents a chance to meet local groups, discover what’s happening in Nantwich, and find out how you can get involved.
The Annual Town Meeting, run by Nantwich Town Council, is a statutory meeting but is not classed as a council meeting.
It is an open forum giving more of a chance for residents to have their say and will be chaired by the Mayor of Nantwich, Cllr Mary Slinn.
Residents can share ideas for improving the town, raise concerns about local issues or plans, ask questions to the Town Council, and discuss anything affecting the community.
Every registered elector in Nantwich has the right to speak.
This can be done by submitting a resolution to be discussed at the Town Meeting. Written notice of the resolution must be submitted to the town council clerk prior to the meeting.
If the resolution is passed, the Town Council is obliged to consider the matter at a later meeting.
