Fire crews rescue cow stuck in river near Audlem

Fire crews were called out in the middle of the night to help rescue a cow stranded in a river near Nantwich.

The incident happened in the River Weaver off Coole Lane in Austerson.

Crews from Audlem and Knutsford and a rapid response rescue unit from Bollington were called out just after midnight yesterday (April 11th).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Using specialist rescue equipment, crews led to safety a cow that had been stuck in a muddy river up to its belly.”
