Cheshire Wildlife Trust has launched its annual photography competition open to budding snappers across Cheshire, Halton, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Warrington and Wirral.
From all of entries, 12 winners and 12 runners up will be selected to feature in the Trust’s 2027 calendar.
Last year’s winner was this gorgeous photograph (pictured) of a pair of great-crested grebes at Big Mere in Marbury taken by Colin Woods, which featured on the cover of the calendar.
Kat Wade, fundraising programme manager at Cheshire Wildlife Trust, said: “Every year we’re blown away by the photos submitted to our competition.
“It really does show the amazing variety of wildlife and landscapes we have on our doorstep here in Cheshire.
“Last year we saw some great examples of urban wildlife such as a little owl in Queens Park, Crewe and a hedgehog in a garden in Macclesfield.
“Whether it’s an iconic Cheshire landscape, or wildlife you’ve spotted in your local park or woodland, we’re excited to see what people have captured on camera this year.
“As always, we love the calendar to reflect the seasons, so we encourage people to look through photos they’ve previously taken throughout the year. What better way to enjoy nature than to capture it with your camera.
“We can’t wait to see this year’s entries!”
Funds raised by the sale of the calendar are used to protect wildlife and wild spaces across Cheshire and they will be available to buy later in the year.
Last year, sales of the calendar raised more than £3,700 for the Trust.
