Richmond Villages Nantwich has officially signing the Armed Forces Covenant to show its support for forces veterans and their families.
The ceremony saw the village, off London Road, sign the pledge on behalf of all staff and residents.
Two veteran widows residing at the village witnessed the occasion.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise ensuring those who serve or have served in the forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect in communities, businesses and organisations they serve.
The commitment outlines several key areas of support.
These include offering employment help, fostering engagement and outreach with military families, addressing unique needs in health and housing matters, as well as promoting understanding and support for the forces through education.
Alan Fairclough, activities co-ordinator at Richmond Villages Nantwich, is leading the village’s bid to gain full ‘Veteran Friendly Framework’ status.
He said: “Signing the covenant is a crucial part of our work towards meeting the eight standards required to achieve ‘Veteran Friendly Framework’ accreditation.
“It’s a formal recognition of our deep respect and gratitude for the Armed Forces.
“We would warmly welcome any relatives of our residents to get involved in this important project and share any veteran information they might have, as we continue to build a truly veteran-friendly environment.”
