Plans have been submitted for a 66-bed care home on the new Kingsbourne estate in Nantwich.
The application from LNT Care Developments comes after outline permission was granted 10 years ago for the Kingsbourne development which included up to 1,100 homes, land for business use, a primary school, community facilities, and local centre.
A design and access statement submitted has been submitted to Cheshire East with this latest application.
It says: “Reserved matters applications have been submitted for the majority of the Kingsley Field development with the application site being one of the remaining undeveloped sites.
“A full application has been submitted to include the care home use to complement the local centre and surrounding proposed community uses.”
The site for the proposed care home is to the west of Reaseheath Way, the main route through the Kingsley Fields development.
An access would be created from Reaseheath Way to serve both the local centre and the care home.
The planning document says the proposed two-storey care home would be a purpose-built residential care facility for older people.
“The proposal is considered suitable in this location given the residential nature of the surrounding area and the sites general accessibility and sustainability,” it says.
“The home will provide a much-needed social care service as well as generating significant new employment.”
The scheme includes 22 car parking spaces, as well as an ambulance/taxi drop-off area with two disabled/mobility spaces close to the main entrance and six electric vehicle charging spaces.
An application for the neighbouring local centre has been submitted and is awaiting consideration by the council.
A planning statement says: “The neighbouring local centre application, submitted concurrently with this application, includes two units… and associated parking, servicing, public square and community garden.
“The outline approval included the provision of a local centre across both sites (local centre and care home sites).
“Due to changes in the retail market there is no demand for the whole site for local centre uses.”
The application, number 26/1016/FUL, can be viewed on the planning portal on Cheshire East Council website.
The last date for submitting comments is May 11.

Hilarious, why on earth some did not know this was happening?? scant few bother to research plans before buying, more bothered about kitchen layouts and flooring choices no doubt notice how coy the sales staff are when you ask questions. The name of the game is selling homes for everyone, such silly comments when the main population of the town is nearer retirement age anyway
A joke. No mention of this on the original plans for the Kingsbourne site. Another few years of dust, wagons, noise, etc. Going to object.
quite
More development, really. No more planning should be granted until the bypass is opened.
It’s all gone quite again!
