A bemused Nantwich resident received a shock through the letterbox when a neighbour sent her a postcard – to complain about her parking!
Emily Potts says someone living near her on London Road watched which house she went into with her kids.
They then went into town, bought a postcard and a stamp, and posted it to her (pictured).
On the card, they wrote “would you consider parking your massive ugly car a bit less selfishly? Show some consideration for your neighbours”.
The person behind it also provided a diagram of how Emily should and should not park!
A stunned Emily said: “Someone watched me park, didn’t like that I left a bit of space in front and behind the other cars and instead of going about their day, they watched me and my kids walk back to our house, bought a postcard, wrote it out, put a stamp on and walked it to a postbox just to stay anonymous.

“To be fair, it annoys me too when people park selfishly, so I do apologise if I’ve only left a metre.
“But can we normalise being normal and just chatting to each other politely, instead of behaving like a stalker and fat-shaming my car!”
Emily told Nantwich News: “I’ve no idea who it actually came from to be honest!
“I usually park anywhere nearby so could be anyone from about 20 or so houses.”
Reaction on social media to the postcard has been swift, with one suggesting: “Maybe they should consider doing a bit of voluntary work in some of the local charity shops to fill some of the endless free time they clearly have.”
Another added: “That’s sad for your car to be called ugly!”
And a third quipped: “There is only one place that postcard belongs – and it wouldn’t need a stamp.”
London Road is a busy road with terraced housing on both sides, and parking usually all the way down one side.

I dont believe it …What a kerfuffle sending a postcard something Victor Meldrew would do
Absolute idiot who wrote that post card. Hope they are ashamed of themselves for stalking a young woman home – what absolute weirdo behaviour. Hope they read this and see it as a sign they need to get some counselling for their anger management.
WOW! In Response to ‘Tom Edwards’…..What a load of Purely Undiluted Woke Claptrap Gibberish U manage to come up with???
ROLL ON REFORM! 🙏
Stan, like others you are missing the point, this card should not have been published on here, shame to the editor and shame to the driver. this just stirs up local tensions, what else does it achieve? absolutely nothing. The person is anonymous, the driver if insured and taxed and mot is permitted to park four wheels on the road, but I am sure some of those houses have a rear entry and a nice little garden at back for cars. That said you do need to weigh up such wanton show and tell vibes coming forward with an odd story, as behind it if you are a deeper thinker the author may be struggling with mental health issues, and the card was the result of the proverbial last straw to them. People with health issues such as pain management have short fuses, so think carefully before you all wade in with your puerile comments, one day it could be you!! Has Nantwich got so nasty to live here now,? or is it just the constant need for social media validation
Maybe the parking is the tip of the iceberg and Emily is a bad neighbour!
Really the message on the card should say leave even more space knock yourself out continue to be a traffic calming barrier as drivers on that road race down far too fast, time there was a 20 mph speed limit. In defence though some of those houses have rear parking, I certainly would not want to leave my car in a busy road if I had that option
From the photo it seems Emily’s motor is parked perfectly well without obstruction or undue inconvenience to any other road user or resident on a road where parking space with terraced housing is inevitably at a tight premium?
The Spooky Stalker Postcard Sender should be fully aware Emily pays appropriate ‘Road Tax’ absolutely entitling her to park on a Public Highway if the vehicle is presumably MOT’d and Insured?
He or She ‘Anonymous’ should be ashamed of themselves upsetting a Mother with Children done absolutely nothing wrong and should have the moral fibre to reveal themselves and discuss their ‘Grievance’ face to face….but I doubt it will happen!🙄
