Drivers who pay by phone to use Cheshire East Council car parks will need to download a new app as the authority is switching providers and returning to RingGo.
RingGo will replace the council’s current provider PayByPhone from October 1, when the existing contract ends.

Nantwich councillors have backed the introduction of community parking scheme “JustPark” in a bid to make more parking spaces available in the town.
The scheme involves local businesses and residents offering spare available parking spaces at their premises via the JustPark App or website.

Cheshire East Tories are challenging the decision to introduce parking charges in free towns and hike up prices in others saying flawed data was used and relevant information wasn’t considered.
Former council leader Rachel Bailey (Audlem, Con) has called-in last month’s highways committee decision to implement a new charging policy across Cheshire East and asked that it be referred to full council for further debate.
A pilot project allowing Crewe and Nantwich residents to report obstructive and illegal parking has been deemed a success.
In January, police received 17 reports of parking problems online as part of “Operation Park Safe” in the Crewe and Nantwich area.

Cheshire East Council is to consult the public on introducing Sunday and evening parking charges along with cashless machines after the move was backed by councillors.
The decision to hold a further public consultation was taken immediately after the highways and transport committee agreed to introduce parking charges in the currently ‘free’ towns and villages and hike up fees in those which already pay.

Controversial plans to introduce parking charges in “free” towns and hike up prices in those which already pay have been backed by councillors.
Eleven members of Cheshire East’s highways and transport committee today (Thursday) voted in favour of implementing the new charges, with one voting against and one abstaining.
The “free after 3pm” car parking scheme on some Cheshire East Council car parks will be kept after the results of a public consultation.
But parking charges looks set to be introduced in most car parks where it is currently free, and charges may also be brought in on Sundays.
Nantwich residents are being encouraged to report illegal parking problems as part of a month-long scheme by Cheshire Police.
The Operation Park Safe initiative allows residents to report problems online and is being piloted across the Crewe Local Policing Unit (LPU) throughout January.
