Team Diamond winner Mikhiel

A Nantwich-based Team Diamond Muay Thai fighter has won a British title after dominating in a bout in Stoke-on-Trent.

Mikhiel Babunashvili won the AFSO K1 British title, adding to his Muay Thai European title.

The 34-year-old from Willaston, beat Tom Porritt in their 67kg clash at Knutton Ex Servicemen’s Club.

Mikhiel, who is originally from Georgia and has been at the club three years, already holds the Nai Khanomtom European belt which he won last year.

Team Diamond boss Gemma Coast said: “He dominated every round at the event in Stoke, taking a unanimous victory.

“We are getting quite a collection!”

The show was a Strike Series Promotions event. Opponent Porritt fights from the Beyond Black Belt gym in Uttoxeter.
