
Crewe Vagrants 1st team suffered a heavy defeat to a very experienced Leycett CC, who were relegated from Premier League B Division last season.
Crewe competed well in the field restricting Leycett to 180 for 9 off their 40 overs. The pick of the bowlers was Alex Yohannan Usha with three wickets for 30 runs.
But their reply never got going and they were bowled out for 65 in 21.5 overs with only Sam Youds (16), Cal Meakin (16 not out) and Rory Kalnins (10) reaching double figures.
This coming Saturday the team are home to Silverdale CC.
Crewe Vagrants 2nds moved up the table with a good four wicket win over top four side Stafford CC 3rd team.
Crewe bowled Stafford out for 95 runs with strong bowling performances from H Alluri (3 for 16), F Hoye (2 for 17) and D Slack (2 for 16).
Crewe reached the target in 26.5 overs with Hoye (24) and Nidamanuri (22) leading the way.
Wynn Hughes and Mike Whittingham saw the Crewe team over the line with a solid partnership.
The 3rd team narrowly lost to Betley in a friendly held at the Vagrants on Sunday.
Both sides fielded a number of youngsters to supplement the adults, and Crewe CC youngsters Freddie Cope, Jacob Boaz, Aun Hussain and Noah Smith performed admirably.
