
A man from Nantwich has been arrested after a vehicle failed to stop and led police on a pursuit along the A500.
Police said officers from the force’s Roads and Crime unit sighted a suspicious vehicle travelling on the A500 near Shavington.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop, undertook vehicles and made off in the direction of Staffordshire.
“The vehicle was eventually stopped, and a male driver was detained.”
A 29-year-old from Baddiley was arrested on suspicion of several driving offences including failing to stop for Police and driving without due care and attention.
Police said he also failed a roadside breath test and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The spokesperson added: “Checks also showed he was further wanted for breaching a court order. He remains in Police custody.”
