Residents have warned of more traffic chaos after Muller unveiled plans for another 400 houses at their site in Stapeley, Nantwich.
Muller Property Group wants to build a second phase of its Maylands Park site and have posted flyers through hundreds of letterboxes this week.
The plan includes building a new access road to the development which would be connected to Broad Lane.
And it could be just yards from where another developer is hoping to have an access road to new homes south of Broad Lane.
According to Muller’s latest flyer, the developer says: “Cheshire East Council needs to plan for the right number and type of new homes to meet the needs of a growing population, both in their market town but also in their rural villages and settlements.
“Cheshire East is currently unable to demonstrate an adequate supply of housing, highlighting the need for well-planned, sustainable development.
“This proposed residential development will help to support local service provision and increase housing choice by providing opportunities for people to remain in the town where they have grown up.”
Muller claims it will provide up to 30% affordable housing as part of the plan.

They say the new phase of what could be up to 1,000 new homes in total at the “Nantwich South” development will be a “mix of sizes and tenures to accommodate diverse housing needs”.
They add that there will be investment into local services “through Section 106 packages as well as Community Infrastructure Levy payments”.
One resident on Broad Lane said: “There is a proposed access road on to Broad Lane between Maylands Farm and Maylands Cottage.
“Don’t forget that Nightingale Lane is seeking permission not to carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment on land almost opposite the proposed Maylands Park access road in preparation for a planning application.
“If both go ahead it will mean lots more traffic on Broad Lane.”
Just last month, it emerged Nightingale Land is considering seeking planning permission for a residential development on a 3.82-hectare field on the south side of Broad Lane.
They want to build 75 new homes on a field as well as demolish a building for access off Broad Lane.
Muller’s development at Stapeley was subject to many years of protracted legal wranglings after Cheshire East originally refused the plans. Muller was able to overturn that decision on appeal to the Government.
For Muller’s latest plans, the public can leave comments as part of a short consultation between June 6-20.

Poor old Nantwich…. Developer greed and a spineless, incompetent CEC has ruined this once lovely town!
Mr Hanson, Please, I have studied history. i had relatives who fought and died in the First World War. They died so we could live in a democracy. There is very little which is perceived as democratic within Cheshire East Council and those elected to represent the Citizens. Although you may not agree the results in Runcorn and Helsby and the local elections, they are a reflection of the total disgust that many citizens hold the current cohort of elected representatives.
Our elected representatives are elected to ensure future generations have a better quality of life than previous generations.
Sadly evidence both at National and Local level do not support that key objective.
The environment we live forms part of that objective, the continual thoughtless development of building more and more houses in small market town like Nantwich will just not support the continual expansion . Sadly the infrastructure simply will not cope.
No one is against immigration, we accept it brings many benefits, culture where we can show we are welcoming nation. That all human beings have more in common than ever divides us. Sadly mass immigration has not resulted in economic growth.
The Growth in UK is next to pathetic. It has not recovered to the levels evidenced before the Financial Crisis of 2008. In the Public sector GDP has dropped considerably since the COVID 19 pandemic.
Gross domestic product per capita of population is even worse. This figure is really worrying. IT is GDP per head that improves living standards and wealth across society.
We all want to see every individual reach their potential and see living standards improve. Housing, Health, diet and quality of life have to be key objectives and aspirations for all politicians. This also includes the environment of town you live in.
It is the private sector that creates wealth.
Lets hope all stakeholders, irrespective of political views bear these objectives in mind and find constructive solutions with vision for future generations.
I have seen next to no vision from Cheshire East Council. The citizen is just a cash cow.
Directors, Executives, Senior Managers demand incomes, failure is rewarded, including gold plated pensions. These pension disappeared in the private sector under Gordon Brown following changes in the taxation of pensions in 1997. Now the private sector employees pay for those pensions in the public sector.
it is time that failure was dealt with, resulting in dismissal for those who cannot deliver for the tax payer.
Sorry it is a tough world.
Go take a walk into Nantwich square. Have a look at the names on the war memorial.
Those are the names of the men who died fighting the ideology Reform are bringing to this country.
People of a certain age will do well to remember that.
Maybe if they’d fought and not hung on to the coat-tails of the greater generations they wouldn’t be considering voting Reform.
Reform winning the next local election will be the greatest disaster this borough has seen.
Populism has never worked in the history of mankind.
Reform are nothing but sound bites, vailed racism and an idea you can always find someone to blame.
Just look at their decision on the child benefit cap.
They are meant to be right wing, conversative and low public spending.
So why on earth agree to lifting the cap. Do you want low public expenditure or not?
Or, like most of their ideas, could it be to capture headlines and make life difficult for other political parties.
You can trust reform as far as you could probably throw a double decker bus.
They haven’t got a clue.
To the extent where you reap what you sow. They come in, get rid of all local services, then you’ll see how much you need them.
Need social care? Forget it. Lots and lots and lots of pensioners, your on your own. That’s the reform future we have to look forward to.
Library. Gone.
Public swimming pool. Gone.
Bus services. Gone.
Care in the community. Gone
Bin collections. Privatised.
New roads. Toll roads
We do not need more houses???
We can’t move on the roads as it is plus the lack of schools , doctors etc
Kids are being taught that their planet is burning, rising sea levels etc due to climate change yet all we see is greenbelt being destroyed????
Please help me…..
Just what the town needs!
Yet more identikit box dwellings.
No infrastructure, more crime
Like a cancer these massive developments have consumed the original town…
With this labour government wanting to building 1.5 million homes, any land will be acquired for housing and before long, there will be no open field spaces left, or farming land. It’s carte blanch for house builders and permission being granted by councillors to build. BUNGS GALORE
Bus service need to pass Stapeley more than four time a day, we used to have a bus directly on the estate years ago, hardly used, I rarely take the car out now prefer to walk and cycle but more buses a day would be very effective if we limited car use
Shortly Nantwich will totally gridlocked. The Lunatics at Cheshire East Council will have created their very own disaster. They will have ruined Nantwich. These people do represent Nantwich, sadly they only consider their own egos, They think siloes, that is they think at all. The infrastructure of Nantwich is not adequate to cope with its continuing expansion. The Road System will not cope with the volume of traffic. It does not take a genius to see the writing on the wall.
Where will our Councillors be then !!
Lets reflect on the mess they have created in Crewe..
The German Airforce in the Second World War could not have done a better job!!!
They kill the town centre, with a half baked retail park with totally inadequate access and parking..
They put the kiss of death on everything they touch.
From 11 million on a car park no one in the private sector would have instigated to 11 million on Consultants.
Where is the vision?
Lets hope Reform form the majority at the next Council Elections. No one could do a worse job.
Bring in a specialist’ DOGE TEAM’ Cut the waste, hopefully bring some vision..
