Food history walking tours will add to the feast of entertainment planned during Nantwich Food Festival, August 29-31.
Organisers have extended their popular walking tours with breakfast and lunchtime sessions taking place at landmark venues.
The Breakfast Tours include stops at Edwards for a mini matcha and acai smoothie bowl, then on to The Bookshop for a South African-inspired Bobotie savoury breakfast followed by coffee and cake taster at Café De Paris. Bear and Boost are also involved on the Sunday.
Lunchtime Walking Tours will begin at Nantwich Museum and take in Nantwich’s oldest pub, The Black Lion on Welsh Row where landlord Darren Snell will serve up Weetwood Beer and Longman’s Farm Shop tasters.
The walk will end at Nantwich Cheese Shop on Hospital Street for Wrenbury cider and cheese tastings.
Darren said: “It’s good to see the food history tours making a return. We’ve been involved since the launch and welcomed a really great crowd of walkers last year.
“The festival attracts thousands and it’s important they see all parts of the town, particularly Welsh Row being so steeped in history.
“Visitors were engaged and really keen to hear about the pub’s history and the local suppliers we use.
“Great that the tours are also involving new businesses to town, including those along Welsh Row.”
Breakfast tours start at Nantwich Museum 9am on Friday and Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.
Lunchtime tours will start at the Museum at 11am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be time to look round the museum before leaving.
Tour participants will get a 10% off voucher for the new Rolling Pin Bakery and Moss Cafe on Welsh Row.
