storage area on Nantwich Town car park

Nantwich Town have appealed to home supporters to use town centre car parks for its matches at Swansway Stadium and avoid obstructing local roads.

It comes as the club’s spillover car park area continues to be closed off and used by Network Rail.

The Dabbers kick off their home campaign tonight (August 12) at home to Kidsgrove Athletic.

Residents on Kingsley Village and the newer Kingsbourne housing have complained previously at fans parking on roads, obstructing driveways and pavements.

A club spokesperson saud: “The ongoing occupation of the upper section of the car park by Network Rail means the main one will fill quickly.

“We are now advising supporters of both teams to use the Snow Hill car park just up the road at the leisure centre as that is free from 3pm onwards all week long.

“It is a two-minute walk from there to the stadium.

“Do not park on the road outside the stadium, or on the pavement there.

“It is causing distress and anger among the residents of the housing estate and is dangerous.

“Any supporters parking inappropriately will be asked to move.”

Nantwich Town started their Northern Premier League West campaign with a 2-1 victory on Saturday away at Bootle.

Kidsgrove also opened their league account with three points after a 2-0 home win over Wythenshawe Town.

Kick off tonight at the Swansway Stadium is 7.45pm.

  1. Parking is free after 3pm in 1 car park in each town in CEC. In Nantwich that car park is Snowhill.

  2. Parking is no longer free after 3pm in Cheshire car parks.

  3. You can’t stop fans parking on side/estate roads so long as they don’t obstruct driveways etc. We do it in other towns when attending away matches as there’s rarely enough “official” parking spaces at non-league level. Residents do not own the roads and while it is irritating, it’s not illegal. The football ground was there before they were!

easy answer Park n Ride, not rocket science is it?!!

  5. Maybe NTFC should offer some other options rather than just facilities for cars – secure bicycle lock up, or just encourage people to walk!
