The Blue Yellows are gearing up to release their vibrant new five-track EP “Scribble on a Cheat Sheet”.
The band, which includes Nantwich guitarists Jonathan Tarplee, has put together a mix of new songs recorded at Fox Barn Studios near Winsford with producer Daniel J. Logan at the helm.
Tarplee said: “We started out aiming for a straight rock collection, but this EP has taken on a life of its own – with everything from lounge-lizard jazz to rock, funk, and folk rock.
“There’s a surprising amount of variety packed into just five tracks!”
The EP will drop on all streaming platforms on September 12, followed by a special live-release event at Tom’s Tap and Brewhouse on Thomas Street in Crewe, on Sunday September 14 from 4pm.
Entry is “pay what you want,” making it a great opportunity for music lovers to join the celebration.
To mark the launch, the band is also releasing a music video for the lead single “I Wish I Could Fall”, featuring behind-the-scenes footage from their Fox Barn recording sessions.
The Blue Yellows are Emma Alcock – keys and backing vocals; Dave Coomer – drums, percussion & backing vocals; Jonathan Tarplee – vocals and guitar; and Simon Taylor – bass and backing vocals.
