Fireworks Spooktacular

The organisers of Nantwich Spooktacular have cancelled the 2025 event, they announced today.

They say the “difficult decision” will mean a chance to revamp the event for a return in 2026.

The event has been held on the Dorfold Showground in late October or early November each year since launching in 2009.

It attracts thousands of families with a fairground, fancy dress Halloween costumes, competitions and games, and culminating in a major Blitz Fireworks organised display.

Organisers posted on Facebook today: “Today we have taken the difficult decision to suspend The Nantwich Spooktacular for 2025.

“We will be back next year with a new event revamped and refreshed, we would like to thank our hosts, all our sponsors, our hard working dedicated staff for all their hard work and you the general public who have supported the event since 2009.

“You can still see large scale pyro-musical displays provided by Blitz Fireworks locally throughout the upcoming season.

“We will be at The Queens Park in Crewe on November 5th for their annual Bonfire & Firework Display hosted by The Crewe Lions Club where all profits go back in to the local community.

“We will post a list of events and venues Blitz fireworks are performing at over the upcoming season on the https://www.facebook.com/BlitzFireworks page in the coming weeks.

“Once again thank you for all your support over the years it really does mean the world to the whole team and we look forward to welcoming you back to a brand new event on Saturday 31st of October 2026.”

  1. I have dogs and I am a resident of Nantwich and think it’s a bloody shame the event is cancelled. Some people are never happy and are normally the ones to comment

    • Fuming Local says:

We’re deliriously happy that it’s been cancelled and hopefully it will be cancelled again next year, because since traffic management ceased in relation to this event some years ago, it causes blocked roads for local people every time it’s held.

  2. Revamped and refreshed? No thank you!
Wildlife and residents can rest easy, albeit, only for this year.
Enjoy the peace and quiet everyone 😌

  3. The one you will never know says:

Just the same old thay cry about thay dont have the money to put on the show or cheshire east got pissy and so the public suffer let’s see if thay cancel any more events this year or next. Still it will keep the pesky youth away from town and no kiss wineing around the place and the selfish lazy drivers in there hp cars parking were thay like none of that this year in Nantwich.

  4. Oh I’m so glad it’s cancelled. Shame it’s not permanently. I have to get sedatives for the dog each year just to get through it. And we won’t worry about the windows breaking.

  5. Fed up resident's says:

The best news this year, totally agree with Russ

  6. Spooktacular Sufferer says:

Let’s hope that local residents don’t suffer next year from the associated blocked roads from tight-fisted drivers abandoning their cars in nearby residential streets so that they don’t need to find a parking space in the “park and ride” facilities.

  7. Brilliant news, at least the house won’t shake this year! The dog will be far happier too and won’t need to spend the night away from home like he has done in previous years.

  8. Fantastic news for all animals in the area , pets, livestock and wildlife
