Former Spice Girl singer Mel C is set to appear at Applestump Records in Nantwich as part of her new album launch.
Sporty Spice, real name Melanie Chisholm, shot to fame in the 1990s with her four fellow Spice Girls.
Alongside Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham, the group sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling girl group of all time.
Now the 52-year-old is set to appear in Nantwich on April 27th at St Mary’s Church in Nantwich, organised by Steve Cook at Applestump.
Applestump said: “We are incredibly excited to finally announce that we will be welcoming the one and only Melanie C to our floral market town in April to celebrate the release of her new album, ‘Sweat’.
“The album is a love letter to heady days gone by; an invitation to party, to find community on the dance floor and joy in a dark world.”
The Nantwich concert sold out in an astonishing nine minutes – marking yet another headline-grabbing success for Applestump Records.
They have enjoyed a run of high-profile successes in recent months. The Oatmarket store has recently hosted packed-out record signings with Blue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, as well as a series of popular live performances at its premises during Independent Venue Week.
Steve Cook, owner of Applestump Records, said: “We’re absolutely blown away by the response.
“To sell out a gig in nine minutes is incredible and shows just how much appetite there is for special, intimate music events in Nantwich.
“We’re hugely grateful to the fans for their support and, of course, to Melanie for choosing to bring this very special show to our town.”
