Bright yellow daffodils have begun to appear across Nantwich, Acton and surrounding villages, signalling the welcome arrival of meteorological Spring, writes Jonathan White.
The cheerful flowers are now lining verges, parks and green spaces throughout Nantwich, with clusters also spotted in nearby Acton and other local areas including Wistaston and Willaston.
March 1st marked the start of meteorological Spring, and this year’s mild, settled conditions have encouraged early blooms to brighten up the town.
Residents out walking in the sunshine have been quick to admire the colourful displays, which are a traditional sign that winter is giving way to longer, lighter days.

In Nantwich town centre, daffodils have been seen emerging in public gardens and along key routes into the town, while in Acton they are adding a splash of colour at the village church and surrounding countryside lanes.
Daffodils are often associated with renewal and fresh beginnings, and their arrival is a welcome boost for many after the colder, darker months.
With the clocks set to change later this month and more seasonal events on the horizon, their appearance is a timely reminder that Spring is now officially under way.
