Nantwich Museum have launched four talks which will all take place in the Museum’s Millennium Gallery.
The talks support the current popular exhibition called “Hospital Street: A Street Through Time”.
The first talk will take place on Thursday August 27th, 7pm, called “John Wesley comes to Nantwich” by Graham Dodd.
Discover the origins of the Methodist movement and the history of the Methodist Chapel, its people, music and congregation.
On Thursday September 3rd, 7pm, the talk “Joseph Priestley’s Time in Nantwich and his Journey of Discovery” by Helen Cooke will take place.
Learn about Priestley’s early life, his time in Nantwich, with new research and images shedding light on this important period before his famous discovery of oxygen.
The following week Thursday September 10th, at 7pm, will be “Memories of Hospital Street in 1960” by Roger Hinde.
Rediscover Nantwich through the eyes of a young boy. Join author Roger Hinde for an entertaining evening of readings from his ‘Guess What Alf’ books.
And the final talk is on Thursday September 17th at 7.15pm, called “Hospital Street … Back in Time” by Ian Short.
Travel through 2,000 years of Nantwich’s oldest street.
Discover its origins, its changing buildings, and the dark stories of death, disease and disaster that shaped its past.
The talks cost £8 (£6 Museum members), children free.
