Nanocon launch event

Comic heroes were in Nantwich to help promote the town’s first ever comic-con event, called NANOCON.

Star Wars characters among others stormed the Civic Hall where Nantwich Mayor, Cllr Andrew Martin joined Shadow Trooper, Tusken Raider and Imperial Guard.

Hundreds of sci-fi lovers, tv and movie fans are expected to come through the doors of the Civic Hall event on Saturday November 7.

Organiser Steve Howard said: “This is going to be a fantastic event, with something for everyone.

“Alongside the Garrison, you can also expect to see Super Heroes and tv/movie characters, a life-sized Lightning McQueen car, The Superheroes Iron Man Docking Station, The Terminator Display and get a chance to sit on the Games of Thrones Iron Throne!

Nanocon event at civic hall“I am also excited to announce that Clem So of Dr Who, Skyfall and Guardians of the Galaxy Fame will be joining Spencer Wilding, Brian Wheeler, Phill Martin, Matthew Dale and Julian Seager signing autograph’s on the day.”

The event also promises a collectors market of stalls, selling collectable goodies, hand-made items, artwork and more.

And there will a chance for photo opportunities. Visitors are being encouraged to enter into the spirit by attending in costume.

Nantwich Mayor Cllr Martin said: “Nantwich Civic Hall hosts so many different events, it’s great to see all areas of the community catered for and I have no doubt this will be a very popular event.”

Entry is by pre-booked ticket or on the door, and it runs from 10am until 5pm.

Adults £4, children (5-12yrs) £2, children under five go free.

Early Bird tickets are also available.
