Cheshire East Council has opened school applications for primary and secondary places in September 2021.
Parents are being urged to complete their applications before the deadlines of October 31 for secondary and January 15 for primary.
Parents can apply online via www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/schooladmissions
Help is available for families who don’t have access to the internet or need support at 0300 123 5012.
Parents are asked to submit three school preferences ranked in order of priority.
They are less likely to get the place they want if their application is late as priority is given to those who applied on time.
Cllr Kathryn Flavell, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for children and families, said: “We have an open and transparent process where all preferences are treated equally and include a means of appeal.
“My message to parents when applying is to please help us by using your three preferences and apply before the deadline.
“Cheshire East is a great place to go to school with 92 per cent of primary schools and 80 per cent of secondary schools judged as either good or outstanding by Ofsted.
“We have a great track record in school admissions; for 2020, we were able to offer 98 per cent of first to third preferences in primary and over 96 per cent for secondary for Cheshire East families.
“We take pride in working closely with our schools to develop schemes to address our forecast for places for children across the borough, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
“Our team also work with housing developers to create additional school places where these are needed and obtain financial contributions from them to support school expansions.”
There are a number of school expansion projects in progress and planned, with the aim of creating 465 new places for September 2021 and a further 450 places at a later date.
The total investment on these projects is around £22.5 million.
